Ink Guide
When it comes to ink, there's a lot to choose from! Here's a quick guide to common brands and types (some of which I sell):
-
StazOn (Solvent Ink): Solvent ink is like a sharpie - it is great for a variety of surfaces like paper, wood, plastic, glass, etc. It is not washable on fabric. Great option (along with oil based inks) if you want to watercolor on top of your prints.
-
Versafine (Oil-based Pigment Ink): Oil-based ink is slower drying and is great for stamping on paper, another good option (along with solvent ink) if you want to watercolor on top of your prints, and can be used with embossing powders!
-
Memento (Water-based Dye Ink): Fast drying and great for every day use on paper. Dye ink will fade a little over time on paper compared to pigment ink.
-
Memento Luxe (Water-based Pigment Ink): These can be used on a variety of surfaces - paper, fabric, wood, and leather! If using on fabric, you will need to heat set it before washing.
- Lakeshore Kids Ink (Water-based Ink): These are great bright colors are non-toxic and washable, but I only recommend them for kids as they leave the stamps a bit oily.
